The third murder occurred some fourteen hours later around five-thirty p.m. on Sunday. Thirty-eight year old Emerson McDonald of an Arlington Drive address in Belize City was shot once to the center of the lower back as he was walking on Central American Boulevard, just a stone’s throw from where he lived. According to reports, McDonald had just left home when a male person wearing a black mask over his face fired several shots in his direction. Twenty-three year old Joseline Maximo, who was also walking near Belizean Pharmacy, was also hit to the right ankle. While Maximo was treated and released, an hour after the shooting, McDonald died at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital. News Five spoke with Deputy Officer Commanding Precinct two in Belize City, Assistant Superintendent Calbert Flowers on the murder.
