Further advancing his dedication, practice and education of interfaith diversity, Professor of Religion and Philosophy Dr. Richard Rose has been selected from a nationwide pool of nominees to participate in a faculty seminar on the teaching of interfaith understanding.
Presented by the Council of Independent Colleges (CIC), and Interfaith Youth Core (IFYC), the five-day Teaching Interfaith Understanding seminar will take place June 15-19, 2014 at Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts.s41748cc111393_5-225x300
“The number of institutions that nominated faculty members to participate in the new interfaith understanding seminar is most impressive,” CIC President Richard Ekman said.
The seminar will be an opportunity for Rose and his colleagues from around the country to further explore interfaith studies.
Rose, who works tirelessly on issues of diversity, and who has spearheaded interfaith studies and cooperation on campus, has long been an advocate for diversity and cooperation.
“I love working with Richard because he’s always bringing a unique perspective to everything he does. He’s an incredibly calm man with an amazing grand perspective of the world and how disciplines of faith fit together,”  Interim Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, Dr. Felicia Beardsley, said. “He’s one of our principal go-to guys on the issues of diversity, and a leader in the field. Richard examines and practices the broader view of faith, which is why he is perfect for this seminar.”
