BLACK SOCIAL HISTORY Kurt Zouma is a central defender of Chelsea. He was born on October 27, 1994 in Lyon.
His youth career started in 2003 when he appeared in the club Vaulx-en-Velin. Zouma was seen as prospective youngster who was involved in all the youth ranks of the club of his age. Kurt Zouma had to study at the academy of Vaulx-en-Velin until he was noticed by the scouts of another French club in 2009.
In 2009 the club was visited by a scouting team from Saint-Étienne who were seeking future talents for their club. Kurt revealed his best qualities during the exhibition match and the centre back showing fine skills certainly appealed to the scouts. Sometime later the teenager was offered to move to the academy of Saint-Étienne where Kurt would have a better possibility of enriching his talent at the same time approaching to professional football. It didn’t take too much time for the player to think over the proposition so he entered the academy of the French Ligue 1 club in the summer of 2009. Kurt received his education there since 2009 till 2011 and worked hard at the training sessions step by step approaching to the main squad.
By the year 2011 Kurt made a significant progress persuading the youth team coaches that he was ready to perform as a professional. His physical, moral and technical qualities were as refined as the qualities a top-level footballer would have. As a result the teenager was offered his first professional 3-year contract with Saint-Étienne and managed to show his best qualities at the club. In the winter 2014 Zouma was offered to sign a contract with Chelsea but stayed at Saint-Etienne for the rest of the season.
