                             BLACK                  SOCIAL            HISTORY                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     João Alves Filho ( Aracaju , July 3 of 1941 ) is a civil engineer and politician Brazilian affiliated with the Democrats . Was mayor of Aracaju between 1974 and 1977 ), Minister of the Interior ( 1987 - 1990 ), governor of Sergipe for three terms ( 1983 - 1987 ; 1991 -1994 ) and 2003 - 2006 ). And in 2012 he was elected as mayor of Aracaju .

Biography 

João Alves Filho was born in the capital of Sergipe, in Santo Antonio neighborhood. He is married to Maria do Carmo Nascimento Alves (Senator). João Alves Neto, Maria Cristina Alves and Ana Maria Alves: and this union three children were generated. 
Son of renowned businessman and builder John Alves and Maria de Lourdes Gomes, João Alves Filho is a great scholar and connoisseur of Northeastern problematic. Concerned with the question of the Waters, has dedicated much of his studies to the cause, also involved with the issue of transposition of the São Francisco River.
His political career began at age twenty, when he joined the course in Civil Engineering from the Polytechnic School of the Federal University of Bahia . During this period, he was a member of the Catholic University Youth (JUC) and editor of the newspaper of the united front of the left and left and only perform this function from the 1964 military coup in 1965, began life as an engineer beside his father in Construction Alves.

In 2006, João Alves Filho presented himself as a candidate for reelection in a polarized between John himself and former Mayor dispute Marcelo Deda candidate for PT , as the candidate of PDT , João Fontes , failed to catch on before the electorate. João Alves Filho however, lost the election to the candidate Marcelo Deda in the first round, having obtained 45.02% of the valid votes, totaling 450 405 votes, against 52.46% obtained by Deda (524 826 votes).
In 2010, he ran again for governor of the State of Sergipe , was not successful, where the then Governor Marcelo Deda was reelected.
In 2012 launched his candidacy for mayor and won by Democrat Congressman Valadares Filho 's candidate mayor Pippa Nogueiraand Governor Marcelo Deda with 52.73% of the valid votes against 37%.

Books

First term
Was elected governor with the support of the former governor and chieftain of the political PDS , Augusto Franco , John won the election with 200,000 votes against 77,000 for second place, Senator Gilvan Rocha PMDB , and the third and fourth place, Marcelio Bomfim PT and Manuel Ferreira , respectively. It was in 1985 that John left the PDS and he joined the PFL .

Second term
