Former Sierra Leone midfielder Mamadu Alphajor Bah has died from injuries he sustained in car crash on Wednesday, September 21 in Freetown.
Alphajor Bah played 35 times for Sierra Leone and club football for the likes of KSC Lokoren of Belgium, Chunnam Dragons (South Korea), Xiamen Lanshi, Zhejiang Lucheng (China) and Halmstad BK (Sweden)
According to BBC Sport, the crash happened when a truck coming from the opposite director hit the car the former Sierra Leone international was driving.
Bah was taken to the hospital where he died from excessive loss of blood.
Tributes have been pouring in for the midfielder since his death was confirmed.
Ex-captain of the Sierra Leone national team and a former teammate of Bah, Mohamed Kallon describes the death as a great loss.
"I am still in shock and deeply saddened by the loss of our friend, brother and father Mamadu Alphajor Bah," Kallon told BBC Sport.
"He was an outstanding footballer, a great team-mate, very committed and hard working, always fun to be around."It's a big loss and we'll surely miss him."
Police say they are investigating the cause of the accident.
