BLACK SOCIAL HISTORY : AFRICAN AMERICAN " DAVID " LEFTY" ROBINSON " HE IS A BURLINGTON COUNTY SPORTS LEGEND - WAS A FIRST ROUND DRAFT CHOICE OF THE GREEN BAY PACKERS : GOES INTO THE " HALL OF BLACK GENIUS "

                                                                                                                                        Dave "Lefty" Robinson was the honoree for Mt. Holly Pro Day 2000.  Born on May 3, 1941, Lefty attended Moores town High School where he was a stand out in football, basketball, and baseball.  Dave Robinson is a Burlington County sports legend.
A dominant two-way lineman for the Penn State Nittany Lions in the early sixties, Robinson helped Penn State capture back-to-back Lambert Trophies in 1961 and 1962.  During his final season at Penn State, Robinson was named First Team All-American and was selected the Top Collegiate Line man by the Philadelphia Sports writers Association.  He was a First Team All-East selection and was named the Newark Athletic Clubs College Athlete of the Year in 1962.  A three year letter man, Robinson played in the 1960 Liberty Bowl and the 1961 and 1962 Gator Bowls.  He was named to the All-time Gator Bowl team and received first-team All-American on four different post season squads in 1962.
Green Bay PackersRobinson was a  first-round draft choice of the Green Bay Packers, where he played ten seasons and was a member of the Super Bowl I and Super Bowl II Championship teams.  
Robinson ended his professional football career playing two seasons with the Washington Redskins in 1973 and 1974. 
After football Dave "Lefty" Robinson was the secretary of the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio and was a partner in a beer and wine distributorship.  He and his wife, Elaine, raised three sons.
In 1997, Dave was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame and in 2013, he was inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame.
Through his accomplishments as an athlete, business professional and man, Dave Robinson has always brought great credit to Burlington County.
