Jerome Byron Allen (born January 28, 1973) is an American college basketball coach who formerly played in the NBA and overseas. He is the current head coach for the University of Pennsylvania men's basketball team.
Allen, a 6'4" (1.93 m) 185 lb (84 kg) shooting guard from the University of Pennsylvania, was selected 49th overall (2nd round, pick 20) by theMinnesota Timberwolves in the 1995 NBA Draft. He also briefly played with the Indiana Pacers and the Denver Nuggets, and spent time inFranceItaly (with Lottomatica RomaCarpisa Napoli and Snaidero Udine), GreeceSpain and Turkey.[1]
In 2009, he became an assistant coach for the University of Pennsylvania's men's basketball team.[2] On December 14, 2009, Allen was named interim head coach of the Penn men's basketball team after the firing of Glen Miller.[3] On March 31, 2010, he was announced as the new permanent head coach of the Penn Men's Basketball team.[4]
