BLACK SOCIAL HISTORY : AFRICAN AMERICAN STEFAN KENDAL GORDY - STAGE NAME " REDFOO " IS A SINGER, DANCER, DJ AND RAPPER BEST KNOWN AS PART OF LMFAO : GOES INTO THE " HALL OF BLACK GENIUS "

Stefan Kendal Gordy  born September 3, 1975, better known by his stage name Redfoo, is an American singer, dancer, DJ and rapper best known as part of the musical duo LMFAO. He formed the duo with his nephew, SkyBlu in 2006 and they released two studio albums before going on hiatus in 2012. He is the son of the founder of the Motown Record Company.

Early life

Redfoo was born on September 3, 1975 to Berry Gordy, Jr., founder of the Motown record label, and writer-producer Nancy Leiviska. He attended junior high school with will.i.am and GoonRock. Redfoo graduated from Palisades Charter High School in Pacific Palisades, Los Angeles,California in 1995.

Personal life

Foo is currently dating the #3 ranked tennis player Victoria Azarenka since 2012. He attended the 2012 US Open, 2013 Australian Open and 2013 Wimbledon Championships, as a member of Azarenka's player box. He attempted to qualify for the 2013 US Open as a wild-card entry. However, he was knocked out 6-1, 6-2 within his first round match

Music career

Early career

Redfoo started writing and producing his first songs with Kyle Dye around 1997 and also formed a hip-hop group with Dre Kroon. They released an album, Balance Beam in that year. The group later split up and Redfoo worked as a day trader. He also did engineering work for rapper Defari's album Focused Daily. In 2004, Redfoo collaborated with rappers Figgkidd and Tech N9ne on the song "I Gotta Know" which charted at number 50 on Australian Charts.

2006-12: LMFAO

He formed the electropop band LMFAO with his nephew SkyBlu in 2006 and their first single "I'm in Miami Bitch". They were featured on French DJ David Guetta's 2010 single Gettin' Over You, which peaked at number-one in France and the UK. They released their second studio album Sorry for Party Rocking in 2010. The album spawned worldwide hits "Party Rock Anthem", "Champagne Showers", "Sexy and I Know It" and "Sorry for Party Rocking". Redfoo also worked on songs for rapper Pitbull's album and wrote and produced three songs for pop singer Carly Rae Jepsen's second album Kiss. And he appears in the video Live My Life by Far East Movement.

2012-present: Solo career


In December 2012 he released his first solo single "Bring Out the Bottles" after LMFAO announced their hiatus in September 2012, the song has charted in Belgium The X Factor.
