BLACK SOCIAL HISTORY Jake Cyril Livermore (born 14 November 1989) is an English professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Hull City and the England national team.
Early life
Club career
Tottenham Hotspur
Livermore's career started in Tottenham's Academy in 2006 making 39 appearances for the Under-18 team and scoring 9 goals. He made another 13 appearances for the Reserves. He made his debut with the first team in a friendly match against Stevenage Borough in July 2007. On 29 February 2008 he joined Milton Keynes Dons on a month-long loan deal.[3] On 11 July 2008, He was loaned for six months to League one side, Crewe Alexandra.[4] However, in a friendly with Non-League side Wrexham, the midfielder fractured his fibula and subsequently returned to Tottenham to receive treatment which kept him sidelined for a protracted spell.[5] Livermore signed a new two-year deal with Tottenham on 24 July 2009 and, on the same day, he scored his first goal for Spurs, a header in a 1–1 friendly draw against Barcelona in the Wembley Cup. In a post-game interview, when asked by a reporter, "What is it like to score against the best team in the world?", Livermore replied "Score against the best team in the world? I play for them."; a comment welcomed by many Tottenham fans.
He joined Derby County on an initial one month loan on 10 August 2009.[6] He scored his first league goal againstNottingham Forest in the 3–2 defeat.[7] In January 2010, he joined Championship club Peterborough United until the end of the 2009–10 season.[8] He scored his first goal for Peterborough in a 2–1 defeat at Sheffield Wednesday on 23 January 2010.[9] On 2 March 2010 he was recalled from his loan due to a spate of injuries to the Tottenham squad. Livermore finally made his first-team debut for Tottenham as a late substitute against Stoke City on 20 March 2010.
On 23 September 2010, he was loaned out to Championship club Ipswich Town until January.[10] On 24 March 2011 he was loaned out to championship side Leeds United ahead of their final eight league games and battle for promotion to the Premier League.[11] On 2 April, Livermore made his debut for Leeds as a second half substitute against Nottingham Forest where he had a hand in Leeds' fourth goal scored by Max Gradel.[12] Livermore was given a start against Reading however he was substituted at half time after picking up a yellow card and lucky not to receive another for a tackle in the first half.[13]
Livermore stayed with Tottenham 2011–12 season, scoring his first senior goal for Spurs on 18 August 2011 in theUEFA Europa League qualifier against Heart of Midlothian.,[14] and ultimately made 38 appearances across all competitions.
Hull City
On 14 August 2013, Livermore moved to Hull City on a season-long loan, moving to the KC Stadium with teammate Tom Huddlestone.[15] He made his debut on the first day of the 2013–14 season when he came off the bench in a 2–0 loss away at Chelsea.[16] On 17 May 2014 he started in the 2014 FA Cup Final against Arsenal.[17] On 25 June 2014, It was announced Livermore had moved to Hull City on an undisclosed fee.[18] It did however successfully break the club transfer record.[19]
International career
Livermore made his first senior appearance for England in a 2–1 win against Italy on 15 August 2012, coming on as a substitute in the second half for Frank Lampard.[20]
