BLACK SOCIAL HISTORY: BLACK PEOPLE IN THE BRITISH MILITARY PART 2:

In the Remembrance Day Parade in London Black Troops were not allowed to march, even though they have been in the same battles, fought and died in battle fields across the world, their bravery was second to none, they could not be seen in a public display of thanks by the nation as it was deem to be an all white affair. The unofficial Colour Bar to Black Officers in the Royal Air Force but maintained in the Navy, meant that most well educated Black Men are creamed off to join the RA, they served as Pilots, Navigators, Air Gunners at the time when the RAF had a man shortage, Black Women like Jamaican Connie Mark also served.

Somalian, Sierra Leonean, Nigerian, Ghanians, Tanzanians  and many from all over Africa including the Sudan and Kenya, supplied a million troops who fought all over Africa against the Germans. A great deal of the fighting in Burma and Malaysia against the Japanies is done by African and Indian Troops, with Indian providing over 2.5 million troops and over a million African Troops fought the Imperial Japan Army and won.
