BLACK SOCIAL HISTORY : MISSOURI PAPER UNDER FIRE FOR PUBLISHING RACIST CARTOON ABOUT FERGUSON DEMONSTRATORS :

BLACK  SOCIAL              HISTORY                                                             Missouri Paper Under Fire For Publishing Racist Cartoon About Ferguson Demonstrators

One of Missouri's top two newspapers is being criticized for publishing a blatantly racist editorial cartoon about the demonstrators in Ferguson, where a police officer shot and killed an unarmed 18-year old.
The Columbia Daily Tribune is the subject of intense criticism today after it published what many are calling a racist cartoon by Gary McCoy of Cagle Cartoons.
Thousands of people have attended demonstrations over the course of the past twelve days and nights, protesting the shooting of Michael Brown by police. Brown was unarmed and shot six times, some reports based on autopsies say from behind. Various local, county, and state law enforcement have been deployed to "protect" residents and businesses, but for the first ten nights, police actions seemed to make matters worse, not better.
Many have commented that the actions of the Ferguson police and Democratic Gov. Jay Nixon are to blame for what is described as rioting, and subsequent arrests.
Conservatives have been quick to try to blame the victim, Michael Brown, who was headed to college before Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson shot him to death. They have labeled him a gang member and a thug -- all without one shred of evidence.
And conservatives have been quick to view the actions of a tiny number of people as representative of the entire African-American community. In fact, the protestors and demonstrators are of many races and backgrounds. Ferguson, a small town of 21,000 may be over 60 percent Black, but the demonstrators and their allies are of all colors.
So, perhaps it should come as no surprise, when conservatives try to frame Brown as a thug, they do this:

And then liberals are forced to prove them wrong:

Then there's the work of conservative cartoonist Gary McCoy of Cagle Cartoons. A look at nearly any of his pieces will reveal what seems to be a deep hatred for liberals, President Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, and the left, injected with a touch of Fox News talking points. There is admiration for Vladimir Putin, when Fox News said it was OK, followed by dislike or hatred for Putin, when Fox News said it was OK. Sandra Fluke, MSNBC, Obamacare, Planned Parenthood -- all the usual targets -- are subjected to McCoy's pen.
And now, this.
Sam Cohen, a University of Missouri Associate Professor first posted a photo of McCoy's cartoon to Twitter:
