                                                   BLACK                 SOCIAL                HISTORY                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 Rolando, who was born in Cape Verde, moved to Portugal at the age of 14 and commenced his professional club football career at Belenenses in 2004. He played for them for the following four years, scoring seven goals in 97 league matches.
In 2008 Portuguese giants Porto came calling and signed him. Rolando went on to establish himself as a key player for them, scoring seven goals in 110 league appearances until now. He won the Portuguese league with Porto in 2009, 2011 and 2012, the Portuguese Cup in 2009, 2010 and 2011 and the Europa League in the 2010-11 season.
Rolando joined Napoli on loan from Porto in January 2013 for the remainder of the 2012-13 season.
Rolando made his international debut for Portugal in 2009 and was part of their squad for the 2012 World Cup finals in South Africa.
