He was born on 19 March 1981 in Bouake, Côte d’Ivoire.
Kolo began his professional career in 2000, when he signed his first contract with ASEC Mimosas. Till 2002 Kolo was one of the key players. He was talented and developed really fast, which made him one of the best club footballers.
In 2002 Kolo drew the attention of Arsenal that invited the player to England. After a great demonstration of skills, Touré signed a contract that assumed his run with the club till 2009. During seven years with Arsenal, Touré was the main back of the club. Arsène Wenger trusted the African player and let him play in the first team without any doubts, so Kolo took part in almost every match of his team.
In 2009 big changes took place in the footballer’s career. He received an offer from Manchester City that continued to gather the world’s top players, investing millions in every transfer. The club paid £16 million for Kolo Touré and signed a four-year contract with him. The African footballer continues to perform for the club according to the contract terms. He made 82 appearances for Man City and netted three goals.
Once his contract with the Citizens was completed, Kolo joined Liverpool as a free agent.
From 2000 Kolo was capped for the Côte d’Ivoire national football team, played 98 games and kicked six goals.
