BLACK SOCIAL HISTORY: BLACK WOMEN IN WORLD HISTORY AND THEIR CONTRIBUTIONS:

Half the world population is women and the other half of the women population is Black Women. The history of the world,  Black women has played a vital part and their contribution to world history cannot be under estimated. Take Harriet Tubman (1820 - 1913 ) an escape slave from Maryland, in 1849 traveled North were she gained her freedom, she then helped hundred of other slaves to the north to freedom via the underground railroad. She spied for the Union in South Carolina during the American Civil War.
Sojourner Truth  (1797 - 1883 ) an American Preacher who dedicated her life for civil and human rights. She was born a slave in New York but was freed in 1827. She became a Preacher and Campaigned for the abolition of slavery and for women right. During the civil war she helped Black Union Soldiers obtained supplies.

Madam C.J. Walker  (1867 -  1919 ) was an inventor, business woman and self  made millionaire. She and a partner developed many beauty and hair care products that were extremely popular. She made nillions selling her hair products door to door to saloons all over the country.








































Shirley Chisholm ( 1924 - 2005 )  was the first Black woman elected to the U.S. Congress. She fought for the rights of woman and minorities. Mac C. Jemison  ( October 17th  1956-   )  Was the first African American woman in Space. Dr Jemison is a Medical Doctor and a Surgeon with Engineering experience. She flew on the space shuttle endeavor as the mission specialist in September 12th 1992 when she went in to space.
