BLACK SOCIAL HISTORY : THE AFRICAN AMERICAN MIDDLE CLASS - THE RISE FROM THE PLANTATION :

The Black American Middle Class consist of African American who have middle-class status within the American class structure. It is a societal level within the African American community that predominately began to develop in the early 190's when the on going African American Civil Rights Movement led to the out Lawing of de jure racial segregation. The giving accrued by the Civil Rights Era is strongly correlated with the emergence of a new Black Middle Class. Despit modest increase in wealth the Black American Middle Class still faces societal and institutional forms of racism and discrimination which constrains the upward mobility of African American.





















































These societal and institutional  forms of Racism and Discrimination are reflected in the racial wealth gaps housing discrimination, residential segregation, the achievement gaps and more over the historical implications of slavery and marginalization has made race a proxy for disadvantage, which many African American face even despite achieving professional and educational success. While the vast majority of whites are centrally middle-class the majority of African American are consider lower middle class also define as working class and lower class in terms of income is considered $39,100 to $62,000 while a more generous view is $20,291 to $ 100.000. Any thing around $40,000 is seen as lower end of the of middle class house hold income.
