One of the disturbing practices of the plantation was when some slave owners rented or borrowed men for stud services, subjecting their female slaves to forced breeding or rape. The male slaves that were used were some time referred to as " Traveling Niggers" "Stock men" and " "Breeding Niggers" Slave women were expected to produce as often as possible and if they fail, they are usually sold off to other plantation.
