It has long been regarded as the greatest sporting snub in history, when Adolf Hitler stormed out of the Berlin Olympic Stadium in 1936 because Germany has been humiliated by a Black Man. The moment was 1936 and an incredible African American called Jesse Owens had just run his way to the first of his four gold medals in the 100metres. Hitler who had shake hands with all the German Olympic winners, left the stadium furious that his Ayran Supermen had been beaten by their suppose racial inferior. Its been claimed that the true story is though Hitler left the stadium after the race, it was not before shaking hands with Jesse Owens. Owens showed the photographs of Hitler shaking his hands to reporters in the 1960's to put the true story straight.
The predominant opinion in post war Germany was that Hitler had ignored Owens, which is not true, Hitler did shake Owens hands before he left the stadium and their is photographic proof of that hand shake. Owen died in 1980 was the son of a sharecropper and won won four Olympic Gold Medals in track and field - 100m, the long jump, 200m, and the relay race at Berlin Olympic Games of 1936. Owens later said that he was treated far better in Germany than in America ere Black People faced Segregation in the United States.
