Its the 21st century and Mauritania is the last country in the world to Abolish Slavery and Slave Trade in 2007 they pass a Law to Ban Slavery, but they have failed to put it into practice and have repeatedly failed to take this issue of Slavery seriously. Slavery in Mauritania is an entrenched phenomenon the National Government has repetedly tried to abolished, banning the practice in 1905, 1981 and August 2007. The descendant of Black African abducted into slavery now live in Mauritania as " Black " or Haratin and practically still serve the Moors Arabs or Bidhan as slaves. The number of slaves in the country was not known exactly but it is estimated it could be 6000,000 to 3,000,000 men, women and children at least 20% of the population in slavery.
One should read the true story of a Black Female Escape slave Moulkeir who was a slave to an Arab master who regularly raped her until she fell pregnant and had a daughter. One day she went out to do some work for the master, when she got back her baby was out side in the ground dead covered by flies, she has been killed by the master who told her that the baby on her back slowed her down and she can now work faster without the baby. This 18th and 19th century Deep South Slavery in 21st century West Africa, how can the world accept this practice and let it go on unchecked.
